1st Shift Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor provides guidance and leadership to the Raw Breaded, Battered, or Formed lines and overall plant operations to promote achievement of the plant objectives (e.g. Quality, Safety, Productivity, Cost, Organizational Development, Sanitation, Customer Service). This position manages the labor, material and overhead costs associated with each specific line within the constraints of the plant budget while ensuring the production of quality products within established manufacturing standards. This position also develops a high performance team that is self-managing, motivated, and innovative and provides growth for individuals within the team. Attend required plant training programs per the training schedule. Deliver selected training programs as required.

Actively communicate the needs of production to the Director of Operations and appropriate support departments.

Administer supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Advise, coordinate and lead all activities within area of responsibility.

Assist in preparation for, completion, review, and follow up, for audits.

Attendance/Punctuality – Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.

Commend employees on successful work habits.

Create and regularly present shift meetings to: work through operational issues, provide information about the business, and provide necessary training.

Assist in the counseling of employees in certain situations.

Ensure that all employees on the shift follow GMPs and all SOPs regarding quality and food safety.

Directly supervise employees to include all hourly production employees, line leaders, line operators, mixers, packaging operators, sealer operators, finished goods operators and sanitors.

Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Ensure overall administrative responsibilities are fulfilled.

Evaluate job performance with each employee.

Follow and enforce all company policies and procedures – safety, sanitation, GMP’s.

Help to build and promote a strong “Teamwork” environment in each individual work group, the Factory, and the Company.

Inspect physical condition of their respective areas and equipment. Ensure work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment are completed.

Create production work orders.

Investigate and report on any foreign matter/material found in product or packaging.

Monitor general operations through use of computers and control sheets to know production and equipment status.

Monitor product quality.

Understand and adhere to the concepts and techniques of the quality process in order to ensure a quality operation.

Evaluate product placed on hold, work with Q.A. Department to determine disposition of product in question.

Monitor work habits and productivity of employees.

Recommend methods of improving productivity of employees

Responsible for staffing and development of personnel in their respective areas.

Rework product on hold status for inadequate quality.

Work collaboratively with all plant management and staff.

Assist in crisis management roles.

Quality Assurance Technician

Performs all assignments in accordance with established food safety and quality policies, including all USDA, FDA, WDA, and SQF Guidelines to ensure food safety.

  • This position requires attention to all aspects of the employee’s duties that impact food quality and safety.
  • The employee is expected to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices at all times.
  • The employee is expected to report all concerns about food quality and safety to his/ her immediate supervisor.
  • Report to appropriate supervisor any areas of processing that are out of quality specification.
  • Weigh and record data throughout the production process on a timely basis
  • Interpret the data collected to assure that all customer guidelines and criteria are met.
  • Display appropriate work ethic in the workplace and group settings, providing a positive influence on employees.
  • Complies with work rules and standards set forth in the employee handbook.
  • Pre-Operational Inspection.
  • Ensure food safety.
